Strawberry Cheesecake Salad
Today's strawberry recipe is another delicious salad that could also double as a dessert. It is light and sweet and creamy. I served this as a dessert after a bar-b-que one evening and my kids ate every last drop. I think I'll take it to our Mother's Day potluck this weekend.
One note about this recipe. The the bananas and marshmallows should be added right before serving, but the remainder of the salad can be assembled earlier in the day.
Strawberry Cheesecake Salad
Serves about 10
12 oz. whipped topping
1 small package of cheesecake pudding (just the powder, don't add the milk)
3 (6 oz) strawberry yogurts (I used Yoplait)
1 lb fresh strawberries, sliced
3 bananas, sliced (add just before serving or they brown)
miniature marshmallows (add just before serving)
Thaw whipped topping and in a large salad bowl stir together whipped topping, yogurts, and pudding powder. Let this set up in the fridge for at least an hour before serving. Wash and slice strawberries. You can add strawberries to salad or wait to add them with sliced bananas and marshmallows just before serving. Keep refrigerated.

Keep the strawberry recipes coming. This sounds like a perfect potluck recipe, the kind where everyone asks you for the recipe.
ReplyDeleteRevised this yummy recipe by using the philly premade cheesecake filling and omitting the powder and cool whip. Both ways are FANTASTIC. Thanks for sharing this yummy yummy summer treat.
ReplyDeleteAnon- That sounds yummy! I'll have to give it a try.
ReplyDeleteFound this on Pinterest! Love anything with strawberries and cool whip!
ReplyDeletelifestooshort- It's one of my family's favorites! We've had it at least a dozen times this summer.
ReplyDeleteMade this for dessert. Of course I didn't measure my yogurt and just eyeballed (also used vanilla since it's my favorite).
ReplyDeleteIt was AWESOME!
Thanks for the recipe!
I'm glad you liked it! I love hearing that the recipes are getting used and liked! :)
ReplyDeleteLove this, going to give it a try! If it tastes as good as cheesecake does then watch out!!!!!!
ReplyDeleteI would really like to make this for a family picnic coming up this weekend....how many people do you think this would serve??
ReplyDeleteAnon-The recipe serves 6-8 as it is written. My family of 9 practically licked the bowl clean! :)
ReplyDeleteI just went back and re-read it....totally missed the serving before, sorry!
ReplyDeletefinally something my family will trust me to make for thanksgiving. There is no way i can mess this up...right? lol
ReplyDeleteThis is completely fool proof and your family will love it! Good luck! :)
DeleteMade this today to take to a cookout. Didn't have to worry about bringing any home. Everyone loved it!
ReplyDeleteThat's what I love to hear!! :)
DeleteCan't wait to try this.
DeleteGonna have to try this!
ReplyDeleteMade it with the philly cheesecake filling. Ommitted the banana's. Served it over crushed grahm crackers. Mmmm :)
ReplyDeleteSounds delicious!
DeleteI tried it and it was Fantastic!!!
ReplyDeleteI'm glad you liked it! :)
DeleteMade this for a church event and everyone loved it. I made a double batch and the bowl was empty half way through the line! I over heard many people talk about how good it was and there was A LOT of food there to chose from! I love that's its a fast easy side dish so in a pinch you can just whip it up. Oh, wanted to let you know I found it on Pinterest. This is becoming a regular around here!
ReplyDeleteThanks Elizabeth! I hope you enjoy what you find here! Glad to have you on board!
ReplyDeleteThis sounds so good! I think I will use it for a bridal shower this weekend, and serve it in miniature cups of some kind, with graham cracker crumbs in the bottom and maybe sprinkled on top too.
ReplyDeleteThat sounds so good! What a great way to make it individual servings!
DeleteIt was a hit! Because I was using mini-cups (just a little bigger than a shot glass, about 2-3 bites worth) to serve in, I cut the marshmallows in half, then diced the strawberries and the bananas, and also rinsed the bananas in lemon juice to keep them from browning so I could make it a little bit ahead of time. Even the next day, the bananas aren't brown (not that there was very much left!)
DeleteGood to know that the lemon juice kept the bananas from browning for so long! I'll have to remember that. I'm glad it was such a hit!
DeleteHow much marshmallows do you use.
ReplyDeleteI didn't measure the marshmallows, I just eyeballed it until it looked good. I'm thinking it was about 2 cups.
DeleteSlice the strawberries with an egg slicer, quick and easy!
ReplyDeleteCan you use frozen strawberries?
ReplyDeleteYou really need the fresh berries for this recipe. Frozen berries would be too soft and give you texture problems. Sorry!
DeleteI made this for Thanksgiving and could not find fresh strawberries in town. I used the whole frozen strawberries and let them drain for an hour and cut them up. Everyone loved it and was all gone by that evening. Will be making it again that way for Christmas. Will try with fresh strawberries when they are in season.
ReplyDeleteI'm glad to hear the frozen strawberries worked. I wondered whether they would be a texture issue or not. I'm going to try it this week at our Christmas potluck. Thanks for sharing! :)

Will This Work With Greek Yogurt Instead Of Regular Yogurt?
ReplyDeleteI don't see any reason greek yogurt wouldn't work. The salad may be a little thicker is all. Let me know if you try it.
DeleteI love this salad the last time I made it I used dannon light and fit strawberry greek yogurt. It was delicious! Not really a texture change at all.
DeleteI have tried this salad with regular and light and fit strawberry greek yogurt. Delicious. Not really any change in taste or texture with the greek.
DeleteWill This Work With Greek Yogurt Instead Of Regular Yogurt?
ReplyDeleteGreek yogurt should work fine. It may just be a little thicker than with regular yogurt. Let me know how it works.
DeleteWe have a yogurt allergy in our house. Do you think sweetened sour cream with some strawberry extract would work?
ReplyDeleteIt would certainly be worth a try and I don't see any reason it wouldn't be tasty. I'd be sure to whip the cream so it about a thick as yogurt. I'd love to hear how it works if you try it.
DeleteMade this for a family celebration bbq! It was a hit and family members were asking for the recipe. I shared it on my blog with a link to you. Thanks for this tasty recipe! I left out the bananas because it tasted just like strawberry cheesecake without them but I'm sure the bananas are also good. Will have to try that next time. :) Thanks!

ReplyDeleteStrawberry honey greek yogurt works great in the recipe plus I tossed in some crushed pretzels for texture.
